Paola Idrontino is a textile artist, costume designer and visual creator. In her works, she combines a passion for storytelling with complex textile arrangements to create costumes, sculptures and masks inspired by grotesque and otherworldly creatures.
Paola is a graduate from Central Saint Martins University in London and the creator of the clothing and accessories brand Papayapie, which she founded in 2005 with the desire to explore new ways to highlight and dramatize the body’s natural silhouette.
Her works has been exhibited at MACBA, Barcelona Design Museum, Barcelona Maritime Museum, and has appeared in various publications and stage shows, such as Moreno Bernardi’s Macbeth (Teatro Akadèmia de Barcelona), Condé Nast Traveler magazines and Hi-Fructose, or the music video “Wake Up” by Radio83, of which she is also the director. Her love of absurd storytelling translates into a sound language that reflects on alternative ways of listening.
